Mothers Day Cootie Catcher
Last year I did a cootie catcher for Fathers Day. This year, we’re doing one for the moms out there. The idea is simple: let your kiddo color the printable, fold it up, and then have fun with mom. Under each flap is an activity to do, so let mom pick a number, and then do the activity. It’s an easy way to build memories and add some fun to Mothers Day.
This works well for large groups – you can even downsize the printable to save paper. It takes very little effort from you, which means it’s perfect!

Folding the Cootie Catcher, Step-by-Step
So until last year, I hadn’t made one of these since 6th grade and I definitely needed a folding tutorial. If you’re like me, this part’s for you. If you’re a little more in touch with your inner child, you can skip this section.
Start with your colored and cut out printable facing upward on the table.
Fold the catcher in half.
Unfold the catcher, then fold it in half the other way.
Unfold the catcher again. You should have two folds that split the paper into four sections.
Now flip the catcher over and fold the corners into the center.
When you’ve finished it’ll look like this:
Now flip the catcher back over, and do the same thing on the other side – folding the corners in to the center.
When you’re done, it’ll look like this:
Now fold the catcher in half.
Then unfold the catcher and fold it half the other way.
And last but not least, slip your fingers under the pockets and your catcher is ready to go!
