‘Tis the season to make ALL the cute and easy crafts. Your kids will love these super simple Christmas designs that are the perfect way to learn how to make 90s pony bead creations.

Those who have been around know I’m a little bit of an expert on the subject. Back in the good ol’ days, I used to sell these, both legally (at craft fairs), and illegally (during lunch at school until I got caught and my inventory confiscated).

So that you can be an expert too, I’ve included step-by-step tutorials with pictures and printable patterns. Picking up a new skill has never been so easy!

Pull both ends of the string until the red beads are sitting snuggly underneath the white bead. Then, follow the pattern to complete the rest of the hat.

Present step 2

Present step 3
Pull both ends of the string until the second row sits snuggly underneath the first row. Then, follow the pattern to complete the rest of the present.
Finished present
Once you’ve done that last row you can tie off your strings. You’ve got a cute little Christmas present!

Optional Keychain Start

You can turn any of these designs into a keychain with one little adjustment:

Instead of simply sliding the first bead (or beads) to the center, you will tie the keychain in the center of the ribbon. Your first bead will then be done like the other rows, with the ends of the ribbon going through it from opposite sides. From there, it’s just the same as the non-keychain version!
