Weightloss Protein Smoothie
I realized that I haven’t shared any of our 6 Week Challenge breakfasts! We really only had about three – this smoothie, a delicious egg white scramble, and some slightly strange protein pancakes that were still better than no pancakes at all.
If you haven’t been reading along, my husband and I joined a 6 week challenge at a local gym. We’ve been struggling to be healthy and lose weight for over a year, and this program worked for us. The changes in our health and fitness were dramatic and exciting, and so I’ve been sharing the recipes we used to achieve those. If you missed the previous recipes, they’re collated here so you can browse through!
My favorite breakfast was this shake. It’s simple, versatile, and is excellent for an on-the-go breakfast (that was the downside of the egg white scramble). I also loved that I could mix up the fruit/protein powder combinations in order to keep things fresh and not get bored. Getting bored has kind of been my #1 downfall when it comes to eating healthy, so this smoothie is perfect that way.
Dustin also really enjoyed this. He favors chocolate powder with either bananas or strawberries. I’m a vanilla powder + strawberries kind of girl, with an option on blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, tropical fruit blend, cherries, and probably a lot more. Basically, I kind of just love this one š
Weightloss Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 scoops protein powder
- 3/4 cup frozen fruit
- 1 cup spinach
- water for consistency
Directions
- Place all ingredients in the blender.
- Blend until smooth
- Enjoy!
Notes:
We use Gold Standard Whey protein. Dustin likes eXtreme Milk Chocolate, and I favor French Vanilla.
If you’re using bananas, just use 1 banana. Freeze it in the freezer, then allow it to thaw slightly before blending. Alternately, you could use unfrozen fruit and add ice cubes.

Hi Diane, I just tried your smoothie and I love it. So simple, yet so delicious. I prefer vanilla protein powder, but I think banana flavor would taste great as well.
