Valentines Cookie Cake

Ingredients

Cookie Cake

  • cup butter/margarine
  • cup shortening
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 6 oz chocolate chips

Buttercream Frosting

  • ¼ cup shortening
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1-2 Tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Cookie Cake

  • Beat together shortening, butter, eggs, vanilla, and sugars.
  • Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Add in chocolate chips.
  • Press dough into a greased and floured heart-shaped pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Wait until cake is completely cooled to remove from pan and frost.

Buttercream Frosting

  • Beat together butter and shortening until fluffy.
  • Add powdered sugar and mix together.
  • Add milk 1/2 Tbsp at a time until frosting reaches desired consistency.
  • Using a Wilton 1M tip, pipe frosting around the edge of the cake. Top with sprinkles.
