Strawberry Sweet Rolls

Light and fluffy sweet rolls with a fresh strawberry filling

Ingredients

Sweet Rolls

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • ¼ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 2 ¼ cups flour

Strawberry Filling

  • 4 cups strawberries chopped (if using frozen, thaw and drain)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp milk

Instructions

  • Mix together sugar and warm water. Add yeast and allow to proof for 5 minutes.
  • Add milk, salt, eggs, and butter. Mix together.
  • Mix in flour until dough cleans itself from sides of mixer.
  • Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead until it becomes soft and elastic (3-5 minutes).
  • Place dough in greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Punch dough down, then roll into a rectangle.
  • Mix together filling ingredients. Spread over dough.
  • Roll dough and cut into rolls. Place rolls in a greased 13x9 pan.
  • Allow dough to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.
  • Mix together glaze ingredients. Drizzle over finished rolls.
