Awesome Salmon Marinade
My family tries to eat salmon once a week, usually on Sundays. We love Baked Salmon, but were getting tired of having it every week. Enter this delicious salmon marinade. I put the marinade together and throw the fillets into the fridge to marinate before we go to church. When we come home, Dustin fires up the grill and we have melt-in-your mouth salmon in a matter of minutes!
Awesome Salmon Marinade
Ingredients
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 4-6 oz salmon fillets
- 2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in Ziploc bag. Allow to marinate for 1-3 hours. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, or grill for 8-10 minutes.
Instructions
Combine all the marinade ingredients. You can either mix them together in a bowl and pour them over the salmon in a shallow dish, or you can do like me and put everything in a plastic bag.
I shake it up a little, then throw in the fillet. Then, I make sure to close the bag tight and squeeze out all the air so I can gently massage the bag. This gets the flavor into the salmon.
Then I put the bag on a plate and throw it in the fridge and leave it for about 3 hours. It really only needs one, but church runs for 3. When the salmon’s done marinating, we grill it, though you can bake it for about 15 minutes in a 400° oven. The biggest thing you’re looking for is whether or not it flakes when you go at it with a fork.
Dustin also said to mention that if you throw some wet cherry wood chips on the grill with the salmon, it adds a sweet and smoky flavor. This is our favorite!

This marinade is the best! The salmon had a wonderful flavor. I cooked my salmon in the air fryer and when there was 2 minutes remaining I drizzled a little honey and added some chopped pecans. Delicious!
That sounds amazing!
