Vanilla Buttercream

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 cups powdered sugar


  • Beat butter and Crisco together. 
  • Add vanilla and mix well.
  • Add powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time and mix until well combined. Your frosting will be very thick.
  • Add water a little bit at a time until you get the desired consistency. If you scoop some up on a knife, it should fall off with one good shake.
