"Applesauce

Do you remember my snack cake mix from like 6 months ago? Yeah, neither did I really. I was all gung ho about making all these different snack cake flavors, but then came the summer and the heat and the intense hatred of turning on the oven, and now here we are. There’s really only one other flavor (chocolate snack cake, which is amazing, and you should check it out).

But it’s okay to have to wait for this one, because I think I love it even more than the original chocolate cake. This applesauce cake is moist, full of flavor, and has the most delicious and buttery topping ever to cap the whole thing off. It is exactly the sort of thing I needed to welcome in cooler days.

Now, if you’re new to the snack cake thing, this is a really nifty little recipe. There’s a homemade mix you can make and bag and then all you need to whip up a delicious little 9×9 cake is just a few ingredients you probably keep around all the time. I absolutely love this, because it means that I can have a one-bowl homemade dessert in minutes. And if you know how much I love desserts, then you’ll understand why this is so important 🙂

So, without further ado, here’s the recipe for both the snack mix (makes 6 packages), and the applesauce cake. Happy baking!
