This craft was originally going to be very, very different. I had envisioned a sun catcher using tissue paper in the shape of a star. But the universe was having none of that. When I pulled down my craft supplies to get started, I found that I had no blue tissue paper. The contact paper stuck to itself and crinkled and wrinkles (I have to be the world’s worst contact paper person. Is there a prize for that?). And my star-shaped cookie cutter had disappeared.

So it was back to the drawing board. I pulled out all the supplies and just looked at them, and suddenly the inspiration fairy struck and this cute little door hanger took shape. I LOVE it! It has such a cute little rustic vibe, and is a kid’s craft that is nice enough looking that I can display with without feeling like I have to explain who made it 🙂

They’re pretty easy to do, too. Mine took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. You could even make things faster by using foil stars instead of cutting out the white paper ones. That was actually the original idea, but guess what else my craft box is out of? I like the way the white stars look anyway, but it sure is time to replenish my supplies!
