Each year, I have Alex make something for our tree. Last year, we did these <a href=\"https:\/\/homanathome.com\/2015\/12\/cinnamon-ornaments\/\">cinnamon scented ornaments<\/a>, which were a lot of fun. This year, I forgot and needed to come up with something quickly &#8211; something that would only use supplies I already had around the house (I am NOT visiting Walmart 3 days before Christmas.)<\/p>\n<p>I scoured the internet for a good picture of the Nativity and found the perfect one at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidsplaycolor.com\/nativity-of-baby-jesus-in-a-manger-coloring-page\/nativity-of-baby-jesus-in-a-manger-coloring-page-2\/?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KidsPlayColor.com<\/a>. I resized it and printed it (you can find a resized version below). Then, I took some popsicle sticks and cut them in half. Alex colored the scene, and when he was done, we glued the sticks on, added a hanger, and put it on the tree. It was a simple project and it came out so cute!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6752\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/homanathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Nativity-Ornament-2.jpg?resize=900%2C598&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Nativity Ornament for Kids | Homan at Home\" width=\"900\" height=\"598\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>I ended up doing one for myself because I decided I wanted to put this on the blog because I thought that this would be a great activity to do with groups of children. You could make up a little kit beforehand, cutting the popsicle sticks and the pictures out so all the kids have to do is assemble. This can be glued with hot glue, but tacky glue would also work. I&#8217;m thinking this would be great for church groups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the full breakdown with materials list:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Materials:<\/h2>\n<p>two large popsicle sticks<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/homanathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Nativity-Ornament-Printable.pdf\">nativity coloring page<\/a><\/p>\n<p>crayons, markers, or colored pencils<\/p>\n<p>ribbon<\/p>\n<p>construction paper or cardstock (optional)<\/p>\n<p>fun foam or a sticky foam star<\/p>\n<p>glue<\/p>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Color Nativity page.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Have an adult cut the popsicle sticks in half. Cut one with a straight line, and the other with a diagonal (this one will become the roof of the stable).<\/li>\n<li>Glue the straight across popsicle sticks to the sides of the coloring page.<\/li>\n<li>Glue the diagonal popsicle sticks to the top. They should overlap.<\/li>\n<li>If you would like to make the picture part sturdier, cut out a piece of cardstock or construction paper and glue it to the back of the coloring page.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Cut a small loop of ribbon and glue it to the top for a hanger.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Peel the back off your stick foam star and stick it to the top of the stable.
