I secretly always love the time of year where we transition away from Christmas-themed things to just generic winter-themed stuff, and penguins top my list of favorites (as you can see <a href=\"https:\/\/homanathome.com\/2018\/02\/valentines-foam-pencil-toppers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/homanathome.com\/2019\/02\/valentine-soda-can-wraps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a free printable template, and it comes in two types. The one in the photo here is a coloring page so that kids can create to their hearts&#8217; desire! The second comes with the colors already intact &#8212; the penguins sport three different colored hats and scarves (red, blue, and green). As mentioned before, there are two options &#8212; one that&#8217;s a coloring page, and one with the colors already done for you. I recommend printing these on cardstock as it&#8217;s sturdier, but regular computer paper also works!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/homanathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Coloring-Page-Penguin-Puppet-Template.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Coloring Page Penguin Finger Puppets Template<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/homanathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Pre-colored-Penguin-Puppet-Template.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pre-colored Penguin Finger Puppets Template<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Colors:<\/strong> Crayons, colored pencils, markers, and more! I used colored pencils in my example penguin puppets, but there&#8217;s no reason you can&#8217;t get exciting with this. You could also use decorative things, like glitter, sequins, or pompoms to dress the penguin pattern up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scissors:<\/strong> You&#8217;ll need these to cut out the outside of the penguin, and, if you choose, the finger holes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>X-Acto Knife (optional): <\/strong>I prefer using an X-Acto knife to cut the finger holes in finger puppets. The knife gives me more control and a cleaner edge. Also, I don&#8217;t have to bend the puppet to get that first snip. However, if this isn&#8217;t for you, a pair of scissor will do the job!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I make a Penguin Finger Puppet Craft? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/homanathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Penguin-Puppet-Instructions.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1211\" height=\"1223\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/homanathome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Penguin-Puppet-Instructions.png?resize=1211%2C1223&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Penguin Puppet Instructions\" class=\"wp-image-21942\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll start by printing the template (found above in the materials section). If you&#8217;re using the coloring template, then let your kiddo color away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When they&#8217;re done, you can either help them or have them cut around the outside of the penguin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, you&#8217;ll either use the scissors or an X-Acto knife to cut out the two finger holes at the bottom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To play with your puppet, insert a finger into each of the holes at the bottom.
