Start by gathering your ingredients: butter, crisco, brown and white sugar, vanilla, eggs, flour, baking soda, salt, and of course, chocolate chips!

Cream the wet ingredients:  butter, crisco, sugars, vanilla, and eggs.

Add the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until you get a thick cookie dough.

Reserve a few of the chocolate chips, and mix the rest into the dough.

Spread the dough in a greased or lined 9x13 pan. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips over the top.

Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Let the bars cool, then cut and enjoy!
