Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies
Add Valentine colored M&Ms to these 3-ingredient red velvet cake mix cookies for an adorable holiday treat!
We love cake mix cookies at our house, and these red velvet cake mix cookies are at the top of the list for our favorite combination. I’ve written here and here about some of our other favorites, but I particularly love these because they are so perfect for holidays.
The ones in this post are styled for Valentines with Valentine-colored M&Ms, but what’s stopping you from switching those out to red, white, and blue for the 4th of July, or green and white for Christmas? Nothing, that’s what.
I love these because they use ingredients (plus mix-ins) and take about 15 minutes from start to finish. Forgot that party coming up? Cake mix cookies to the rescue! Impromptu game night? Cake mix cookies. Crazy craving for sweets? That’s right, cake mix cookies are the answer. I watch for the cake mixes to go on sale at the store, and then buy several to keep in the pantry for just these kind of emergencies.
This recipe is extremely versatile. Check this post out for another Valentines take on the cake mix cookie. It’s totally different, but the same base ingredients. You can get your inner chef on with this, since its practically impossible to mess up!
This recipe is also a very simple way to introduce baking to your kids. The method is practically no-fail, and you can teach concepts like cracking eggs and measuring ingredients without a lot of stress. This dough is also easy to roll and relatively non-messy. As a note, it will stain clothes, so make sure those little ones are wearing aprons!
