This is one recipe I’ve been waiting a while to share. A roommate taught me the secret to amazing homemade caramel popcorn years ago – but it’s too dangerous. Whenever I make this, I end up with sticky fingers, an empty bowl, and a blurred memory of  happy tastebuds. My husband has this problem too, so we made a deal. For those with more self-control, this recipe works great as a movie night snack. Back when I lived with roommates, we frequently made a couple bowls, invited tons of friends, paired the popcorn with apple cider (this recipe‘s great if you like your cider homemade) and put on a fun film. Instant party!

So simple and easy. Did I mention the gifting possibilities? Caramel popcorn makes a great holiday gift. We put it into cute baggies, then add a topper like this or this. It’s a super simple homemade gift that’s somewhat unique amid all the candy cane cookies and fudge (not that we don’t like candy cane cookies and fudge. We really, really do.
