Do you ever have those days? The days when you look through all your tried and true recipes and nothing, not one single thing, looks good? I do, more frequently than I’d like to admit. That’s why I’ve got more than a few sites bookmarked for recipe browsing.
I’m kind of picky about the sorts of recipes I’ll try. I don’t like having to buy “weird” ingredients (capers, anybody?) that I would only use for one dish. I don’t have the budget for expensive ingredients, or things I won’t use up in time. The following blogs are great for someone as picky as me. Typically, the ingredients list is something you’ll find in your cupboard. The recipes tend to be tasty, budget-friendly, and easy to make. So without further ado, here are my favorite places to look for ideas. They’re in no particular order 🙂
This is my all-time favorite recipe blog. They have great ideas for family meals that won’t break the bank, and they have tons of them. I find something pretty much every time I go looking.
This lady has recipes that use whole foods. They’re cheap and easy and everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious!
Does what it says on the tin! Tons of recipes that cost 5 dollars or less for the entire family-sized meal. The Baja-Cali Black Bean Salad is to die for!
This blog is great for tons of ideas, including home decor, crafts, and kid-friendly fun – but Melissa’s recipes are the reason to bookmark it. They’re practical and delicious! Be sure to check out the winter salad.
They even have a cookbook! This lady has delicious recipes that cost pennies – but you can’t even tell because they taste so good. The pineapple salsa from the header photo is from here. So good!
These ladies have healthified version of kid-friendly dishes. An easy way to slip a veggie or two past a picky eater!
Extremely easy recipes (most are designed for kids to help with)!
I’m a fan because they have recipes for even the smallest kiddos. My little guy has been eating these recipes since he first started eating.
So many mommy bloggers out there, it’s nice to see a daddy blogger every once in a while. His recipes are easy, fun, and delicious! I just bookmarked the Easy Weeknight Teriyaki Chicken to make this week!
You can’t write about family-friendly meals without mentioning this blog. The ideas are practical, but will push your kid’s palates. I’m a huge fan of her Honey Almond Granola 🙂
Beautiful photos and recipes that come out perfectly every time.
Another blog with fun crafts, decor, and of course, recipes. These ones are easy and delicious!
