Twas the night before Christmas, and in the Homan house, Mom was stirring as quiet as a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care – that’s tradition one done with time to spare.
The tree was decorated with homemade ornaments – tradition number two: this year’s have a cinnamon scent.
The bagels are ready, along with cream cheese. We’ll eat them Christmas morning for tradition number three.
Four is a fun one – the gifts for our friends. This year we did bread – maybe we’ll do it again…
Tradition five, that’s the kiss a days. The kisses are all cut: Santa’s on his way!
Six happened on Thanksgiving – a long time ago. We drove around and watched neighbors’ Christmas light shows.
Tradition seven is sitting on Santa’s lap. Alex cried the whole time and then needed a nap.
For tradition eight we bought Santa hats. It wouldn’t be right to open presents without that.
Mom’s excited for nine – it’ll be cute you see. It’s pictures of Alex under the tree.
Ten is the sweet one. Before bedtime tonight, we read the Christmas story and sang Silent Night.
Those are the traditions we do each year. They help bring that lovely Christmas cheer.
And one last thought to make your evening bright –
Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!
