Instructions

First, you’ll dissolve the yeast and the water. Let it sit for ten minutes. This gets the yeast going – your mixture should look frothy at the end of the wait time.

While that’s going on, you’ll combine your flour, salt, and sugar in the mixing bowl. As soon as the yeast is ready, pour that in and mix it together using the dough hook. You’ll need to knead the dough with the hook for about 7 minutes.

Then, you’ll put the dough into an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. You’ll leave it for about an hour or until it’s doubled in size.

Now, you get to roll your dough out. The original instructions say to make a rectangle about 12″x15″.  I did my best…

Then the fun part – you get to spread Nutella all over your dough. Yummy!

Now that there is adequate chocolate on your bread, roll it up long ways and place it on a baking sheet.

Now slice down the center of the roll leaving about an inch intact on the left.

And now we’ve hit the messy and tricky part. To “braid” the bread, you’re going to twist each piece individually and then twist them over each other. I think I lost about half the Nutella trying to do this because I kept squeezing it out when I twisted. Since the Nutella went onto my fingers, I really didn’t consider that too much of a problem…

Next, you get to cover the dough with plastic wrap again and let it sit for about 20 minutes. After your 20 minutes are up, uncover and bake the bread at 350° for 25 minutes. Try some while it’s warm and the Nutella’s still gooey. It’s amazing!
